5 Thoughtful Gift Ideas

We all want to be "good gift givers," but sometimes we just don't feel we have enough time to put the thought into a gift that our loved ones deserve. To help, I'm sharing my list of thoughtful gift ideas that won't break the bank or take a lot of time to curate, but are sure to be adored.

My method of gifting is to include something personal, something fun that they wouldn't normally buy for themselves and something useful.

1. Your favorite recipe

Hand write your favorite recipe and include a note on why you chose that specific recipe. As an added bonus, if you are gifting in-person, you can make the dish for them.

Looking back at recipes from my grandparents and seeing their hand writing warms my heart and each time I bake a dish from a friends recipe I think of them and it makes me smile.

Some great items to pair with your hand-written recipe is a cutting board and an apron. These items can be used by everyone and make nice additions to the recipe.

To get you started, I included a few recipe templates for you to write your recipe on. You can download and print them at the end!

2. Something to help them relax

In today's world, you won't find many people who aren't worrying or have some stressor in their life. We live in such fast paced times and could all use a reminder to slow down and pamper ourselves.

For this, I suggest gifting a hand-made card and pair with a calming sugar scrub or bubble bath, a candle or wax melts and, my favorite gift as an adult, cozy socks.

You can get creative and paint your card, use stickers or simply use markers to tell a joke, write, a poem or say you love them - the world is your oyster here.  Seeing the thought behind the card will make their day.

3. A reminder of cherished memories

Write a note, a quote or song lyric that is meaningful to your relationship and frame it alongside a fun memory of the two of you.

You can choose a vintage frame, write your note on lined paper, and use a polaroid photo (or make you photos into a look-alike Polaroid if you're feeling extra crafty)  for a homey feel. The personality of the person your gifting will help you determine what look to go with.

4. A modern mix-tape

We all have songs that put us in great mood, and in this music era it's easier than ever to put together a playlist.

If you know someone going through a hard time create a special playlist featuring your favorite "feel-good" tunes and share it with them.

Music is a universal love language and it should be shared. Check out our playlist for inspo!

5. Book worm

The gift of a tried and true book is always appreciated. I have been gifted a book by a friend that she previously read and thought I would enjoy and, quite honestly, it made me enjoy the book more! Weather used or new it's a great gift and you can leave a short note on the inside or back cover to add a little more personalization.

If you're looking to pair it with something else you can add in a bookmark - even a postcard from your state that could double as a book mark- a coffee cup with a bag of coffee or tea, or even a bottle of wine.
